Robin Allen Media

ROBIN Allen is a midlands-based Sports Journalist, who graduated from Solent University in 2014.

The Coventrian began his career working for Coventry Speedway in 2013, writing for their official Raceday Programme, before progressing to work on the clubs’ social media platforms on race-nights.

In 2015, an opportunity arose for Robin to write for a weekly newspaper Coventry Observer, becoming their Speedway Reporter; covering Coventry’s home and away fixtures.

During that time, Robin also covered two FIM Speedway Grand Prix’s at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, and three Speedway World Cup events; including the World Cup Final at the National Speedway Stadium, in Manchester,  in 2016.

Robin gained further experience in social media when he became a Social Media Journalist for Polish International Rider  Kacper Woryna in May of that year. He also reported on the European Championship Final in Rybnik, Poland, where Kacper was a wild card on his home track.

In the winter of 2017, Robin was approached by an experienced journalist and broadcaster, Nigel Pearson, and he became a member of Nigel’s media team covering various clubs in British speedway.

With the main responsibilities of writing press releases, programme content and social media for various clubs controlled by Nigel Pearson Media. Since then Robin has gone on to cover an number of high profile FIM events and became a member of the news team at the world leading speedway magazine ‘Speedway Star’ as well as having contracts with British-based riders maintaining their websites and social media channels.

In April 2022 Robin branched out into broadcast journalism working for British Speedway Network as a pit lane reporter and social media journalist.

The Coventrian was approached by the Head of Social at Eurosport via LinkedIn – who offered him an opportunity to work for Discovery Sports Events as part of their social media team for Speedway Grand Prix.
